Data we collect

• Your account email address and, if you set one, your display name.
• The content you create in Vojo: voice recordings, their transcripts, the analyses generated from them (such as mood and themes), journal entries, goals, and any photos you choose to attach.
• Your app settings, such as reminder times and language.
• A user ID and the basic technical data needed to operate the app (for example, to sync your journal to your account).
• Your subscription status. Payment itself is handled by Apple; we never see your payment details.

Journal entries are personal by nature and may reveal sensitive things about you, such as your emotional state. We process this content for one purpose only: to provide the journaling features you ask for. Never for advertising, never for profiling beyond your own reflections, and we never sell it.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your location, your contacts, or advertising identifiers. We do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not show ads, and we never sell your data.

How we use your data

We use your data to:

• Transcribe your voice recordings.
• Analyze your entries for mood and recurring themes.
• Generate your daily summaries and weekly, monthly, and yearly reflections.
• Sync your journal across your devices.
• Provide, maintain, and improve the service.

Under the GDPR, our legal bases are: performance of our contract with you (providing the journal, sync, and subscriptions), your explicit consent for the AI transcription and analysis of your entries (you consent by recording, and you can withdraw it at any time by deleting entries or your account), and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and working.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of trusted providers who process your data only on our behalf, and never for their own purposes:

• Supabase - secure storage, authentication, and database.
• OpenAI - speech-to-text of your recordings.
• Anthropic (Claude) - analysis of your entries and generation of your reflections.
• RevenueCat and Apple - subscription management and payments.

The AI providers listed above do not use your data to train their models.

Where your data is stored

Your journal is stored with Supabase on servers in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). To transcribe and analyze your entries, the audio and text are processed by OpenAI and Anthropic in the United States. These transfers are protected by EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Security

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Voice recordings are stored in a private storage bucket, and strict access rules ensure no other user can ever see your entries. Like any service that transcribes and analyzes content for you, our systems can technically process your data; we access it only to operate the service, never to read your journal.

Retention

We keep your content until you delete an entry or your account. Deleting your account removes your data from our systems.

Your rights (GDPR / EU)

If you are in the EU or the EEA, you have the right to access your data, receive a copy of it, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, and withdraw your consent at any time. Vojo includes a "Delete account" option in the app that removes your data from our systems. For a full export of your data, or to exercise any other right, email us and we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update this page and note the date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.

Children

Vojo is not directed to children. You must be at least the age of digital consent in your country to use Vojo.
